the a3xx series of trans's are modular. you are able to swap bells, tails, etc from all different ones, 2wd, 4wd, lexus, cars, trucks, old..... Ive always wanted to see if you could put a a340f tail on the 343, or use the 343 bell and put a 340f on the 1fz. Then you can adapt to mini's. Or the ax15 (found in the cherokee) is also a aisin 300 series and has a tail that can bolt up to a d300 with no adapter....:hmm:

Do you have access to a 340f?

I think I have read the output shaft on the 343 is bigger diameter, but that doesn't mean the output shaft can't be swapped.

I put a 340f in the 92. other than that no. Yeah often times you have to change or alter other components. I know from the sc400 trans to the 340f you have to use the pump and input from the sc400.

Alright douche-nozzles, back to finding me a truck.

I offered this guy https://forum.ih8mud.com/il-windy-c...looking-local-parts-lift-bumper-anything.html
$2,500 cash for this https://forum.ih8mud.com/vehicles-trailers-sale-wanted/434862-1993-fzj-80-white-looking-trade.html. He made some wise ass crack like it's worth a lot more than that.
I'm looking towards maybe an 80, it can tow my camper and with a few grand can wheel but also needs lockers. Keep your eyes out for something. I am currently driving a Chebby Malibu rental.

Damn Todd, that's one hell of an idea? I could wheel an 80, but I would really want factory lockers.

What's up with 80 guys thinking their rigs are worth that much? Ron, let me borrow your truck.

If it was locked, it would be worth more than 2500. I paid 4800 for mine but it only had 115k on the clock. I also had to fix a few things, but still very happy with the deal. I would hold out for a locked one. They are just too sweet and worth the extra coin IMHO. Supposedly, only about 10% are locked though. I spent months looking for mine so be patient and hopefully good karma will be the result. You wont be needing to wheel and pull the camper soon anyway. You can pick up a beater to drive in the meantime. We will keep looking for you too.

Here is a search engine that might help. http://www.autotempest.com/#?make=toyota&model=landcruiser&minyear=1993&maxyear=1997&minprice=0&maxprice=Any&minmiles=0&maxmiles=&radius=750&zip=46220&inclus=on&keywords=&body=&prefbody=any&saleby=any&trans=any&sops={%22cl%22%3A{%22modelkeys%22%3A%22Toyota+Land+Cruiser%22%2C%22clyear%22%3A4%2C%22titleonly%22%3A1}%2C%22make%22%3A%22toyota%22%2C%22model%22%3A%22landcruiser%22}

Also if you want a locked one, be prepared to travel a ways to get one. I flew to Philly to get mine. Another thing is you might get a better deal outside of Mud because the general public (including dealers) don't know about the factory lockers and don't realize how rare they are like Mud guys do. Mine came from a dealer who didn't know what he had. You know what to look for, right?

travel, travel, travel!

You've got a pile of cash. Shop the whole country, find what you want and buy a plane ticket.

You should be able to find what you want in a matter of hours.

EDIT: Plus 80 prices seem about 40% inflated right now here in the snow belt.... bad time of year to buy a 4x4 around here. Check the south

That asshat AJ might put his back up for sale. It only has 118,000K miles on it.

After Todd's comment, I'll bet he walks by it in the garage every day thinking it should be getting used a lot more than it does. It's locked and lifted, although I don't think the rear locker has been looked into since it hasn't worked since he bought it.

He may even let you wheel it at TFT if he shows up.

I'll bet you could PM him and discuss it, that stupid Polak will fall for anything.

Hey now...

Even though you are keeping the truck????

No, if I keep the truck I would only get around $1,600 back.

wow....sucks, im glad Ive never had a car payment.

Though I guess I get it, the bank has lost the collateral, so they are at risk. while you could just go out and buy a car for whatever you owed and technically be in the same boat you were in.

so you wont even have enough to fix your truck? no matter how you work it?

That's basically it John, if I could still make payments to the bank I would get the additional $ I owe on the vehicle (that would give me ton's of options)- but I can't keep making payments because it would be considered totaled. My insurance will not offer full coverage on a "totaled" vehicle and my bank clearly states that I must have full coverage until the loan is paid off.

So yeah, I am basically fxxxed. I am still going back and forth with insurance but it's not really looking good.

What year is your truck? NADA says a 1997 with 150k is worth 6500 clean retail. You would then add $ from there for anything you have added, like sliders, etc and deduct some for previous damage. Seems like it should still be worth more than 3k.

He has an 01, and yes its worth more than 3k, but he doesnt own the truck and the people who do (bank) get paid, then the deductible, then the buy back if he does the buy back....after everyone has had their cut day'real gets the left over. Lets say the truck is worth 8000, and the bank owns 5k of it.....

Oh and it CAN be a hard sell convincing ins companies that the sliders/bumpers/lift/locker/tires....added value. State Farm always treated me well, but as you fall to the cheaper companies things get shady.

But you should get some extra money for it atleast $1000
