hj75 vs hzj75 troop carrier differences? (1 Viewer)

Does anyone know the differences between the hj75 and hzj75 troop carriers please?
Most specifically the chassis frame?

I know the rear seats are the same and they can use the same rear springs, hzj rear springs are a tad longer but fit fine.
Possibly, the hzj front bench seats also fit the hj. The newer version can pivot, so entrance to the rear is a bit easier from the front.
Being a different engine would also mean different gear box cross member location probably. But I believe the hzj also has the h55f trans?

Hello,

Some HZJ75s had the H55F.

Dimensions are the same between FJ75, HZJ75, PZJ75 and HJ75. Or so the FSM says.

2H vs 1HZ, both H55F (different input shaft). 9.5'' vs 8'' front diff assembly. Market dependent, HZJ75 has 4 wheel discs.

Really good to know as my hj75 frame needs a bit of work to say the least, I am more likely finding a good hzj frame. Thank you, my book is before hzj was printed.

Thanks Juan, I have a 1992 fsm, but it does not have the hzj. There are 2 diagrams for the fj,bj, hj, one is for 'v' series and another for 'p' series.

I kind of assumed 'v' stood for van and 'p' for pickup. Can anyone verify?

So, my 'p' series diagram is the same as yours. But I think/guess that is the pickup? Do you have a diagram for 'v' series too?
