Getting back to the troopy wreck body and chassis a bit. I feel sorry for the closest chicken coup townhouse neighbour, single mum with two mentally handicapped kids, not a day goes by without one of them loosing it. My extended grinding episodes would only contribute to doing her head in.

The wreck is 6/85, my good troopy is 5/88.
Front cross member sits on perches which the shackle eyelets are attached to. The early did not have have drainage holes as the later has. These holes are important for cleaning, which contributed to the early cross member rusting out (as well as pvo knob cracking it and never cleaning).
So I shall drill some drainage holes into the earlier perches. Not sure if it is a unique factory overlook or just a stuff up early design, but they need the drainage holes. Otherwise they are just steel mud holding cups to guarantee rust. Worth checking!
