just for fun, let's compare the underside of the tub today, to what I had a few short months ago:

next set. I had a couple more shots of the pto shaft finally painted up and installed, so I thought I'd post them.

The floor of the tub, along with the dash, will be getting another pass of epoxy primer tonight. Third and final pass of primer (to cover the cowling, rocker panels and the rear wall of the tub) will be the day after that, all being well, and then the bed liner can go on in a couple of stages.

Getting very close now with the cab sections. The main tub section has had 2 rounds of primer, and the third should happen this evening. In the 2nd and third photos you can see that the floor of the tub has been re-primed, covering over the seam sealer lines. When a single color is back on the metal, of course all the faults are that much more visible, which is frustrating because just as I think I'm almost there, a whole bunch of work is yet again required. I spent 8 hours sanding the tub sections yesterday.

last couple. Once the primer is on these pieces again, I will move on to doing the bed liner. I'm using the SEM 2-part product, based on recommendations I have come across on 'Mud.

Another 8 hours or so and it's still not quite there. i had to give the kick vents a fair amount of attention. The cab, etc, is going to be primered tomorrow, for sure.

The kick vents themselves are not exactly mounted on what you'd call tight tolerance hinges, so a little guesswork at this stage as to whether they'll come out nicely in the end.

I'll paper out the fenders tomorrow.

looking at the last picture in the previous post, i can see that the edge around the top of the vent still needs attention. Sigh!

Steering column cover and lug nuts. I was glad to find a column cover available in the 'shadow gray', as most of the ones i have seen are brown.

I got it as good as I could get it, and I'm sure this next coat of epoxy primer will reveal a few more glitches.

three more. You can see that i left all the spot weld dimples un-filled along the top of the valance lip in the third picture. I've left the vast majority of them like that.

I'm really looking forward to getting there tomorrow morning and seeing the tub all in blue primer. next step will be to mask off for spraying the floor of the cab with bed liner. One of the fenders still needs to be papered-up yet for the bed liner application as well.
