Hi folks,

I am reassembling my '81 HJ47 Troopy and working on getting everything connected to the harness. I've searched and still have the following questions. Thanks for any input!

1. The stock flasher/turn relay is MIA. Will a new Toyota flasher/turn relay work in place of the stock unit? They are different designs - see pics. 1st pic is stock unit

2. Does anyone have pics of a RHD harness that has the connectors labeled?

Thank you!

Hey 82cruiser, I can't help with question 1 but I have pulled the wiring harness out of my hj47 PU and labelled all the connections I could that weren't already apart. What section do you want a photo of? I may be able to help you out.

This is the connector that goes to the flasher unit, it is about 6 inches along to the left from where the fuse block wires join the main harness.

My 47 harness had this after market one hooked up to the flasher connection as the one that mounts on the firewall had corroded connections. I don't know if it worked but it looks like it was in there for a while. I am not an auto electrician but I would imagine if they had the same specs, 12v/20amps or whatever that it would work just fine.

Hey SOOT - thanks very much for the pics and info, much appreciated and helpful. It seems that some flasher relays are two-wire and others are three-wire.

Any pics of the connectors near the fuse box and firewall would be helpful as I'm missing labels on most of those.

Thanks!

Yeah maybe the 3 wire flasher unit black wire and round lug is a ground wire! I haven't come across many connections with lugs like that which are not ground wires, saying that I have been wrong before:hillbilly:

How much is the one from SOR in the picture out of curiosity?

I will try to take a good pic of that section laying out with some nice labelled sticky notes. Like I said before most is labelled but some is not so hopefully someone else can give a headsup on those ones.

I quickly snapped some photos of the wiring harness as it was in my HJ47, as I said before, some were not connected to anything why I pulled it out. Started off with a overall shot to reference back to when needed. The connections labelled #1, 2, 3 and 4 were not connected up. #2 and 3 are next to the door light switches so I would think that one of them would have to be the interior light? Hope this helps you out, if you need some closer ones of a spectific connection or area, post her up and I will see what I can do.
