Since the turbo on my 79 series , after driving and turning the ute off the heat sits under the bonnet like a oven , if you feel between the bonnet and fender there is a load of turbo heat trying to come out . I'll be getting a bonnet scoop off a 07 hilux but in the mean time I thought I would put a black grill from a hj75 fender which sat next to the batterie with the 2h motor .
As soon as you pull up the bonnet is cool to touch so it's okay when air flow is comming in aka when driving but after a few minutes of sitting still the heat sets is ,
Still don't know whether to put scoop forward or backwards

I went to my local cruiser parts guy and picked up a hj grill and noticed the rear troopy panel vent is the same and has same part number just has a different ducting on inside of fender / panel.

When I got home to day and waited a few for the heat to set in noticed heat coming out , so I'm a happy camper not sure whether to put the other grill on the other side to even it up ? But don't really need to as not heat sits on that side .

This is were they normally sit on the hj 75 except they only seem to come out on the 85-86 ?

why not get one of those scooke-um FRP vdj hoods?! Other than the cost.
I always cringed at those vents on the front fenders but I never really did see them often.

I would rather spend the dollars on something else as nice as they but $700+ and I'm still not sure on which way to face the scoop

The grill on the fender I never really was much of a fan of but it is a factory thing ...sort of (wrong side) so I'm down with it

A nother nice scoop [i know this is not nice] comes ofthe nissan patrol diesels, i have fitted a copple of them, around $130.00

Yep hilux or patrol they look simular
seems to be a very popular mod with the hz-t with top mount cooler on 75/9 80 and 105s

This is the original spot for the vent/grill on this hj75

They are a heat ventilation grill which joins to the batterie box , I believe it's something to do with the heat and how close the 2h exhaust manifold is to the batterie.
The fj 75 has the exhaust on the same side but never got the grill , maybe they dont create as much heat?

Toyota put my badge in the wrong spot ;)

Shouldn't be to bad , I'm going to put 45 series badges on soon anyhow , there a tad smaller
