Update : added tundra Trd pro wheels with 295/70/18 tires (heavy).

At 17.4 mpg’s. I don’t mind filling up at 245 miles a tank since I like to clean out my car while pumping.

Did you have to do much trimming for the 295/70's to fit? I was thinking 285/70/18 on my OverTrail.

Zero trimming. Slight rubbing at full turn, doesn’t bother me. Need to keep it in H1 or H2. Hard rubbing in Neutral setting.

And you get it in H1 or H2 by changing the drive mode or MTS?
I keep it in the H2 setting and it adjust automatically. Above 30mph it goes to H1, then after 60mph goes to Neutral. No rubbing on the hwy in N.

So you'll still rub under articulation?
Not sure. Haven't taken it on any crazy trails YET

I have not found a way to set the car to be in H2 as the default....or are you just pushing the height adjust to be in that position manually every time?

Push manually to H2 and stays that way for me. I dont adjust everytime i get in and out, its automatically at H2 after.

How are you getting 17.4 with those tires?? I put 285/70r18 on and I’m averaging 13. Barely getting 200 miles out of a tank now. Granted I have extra weight from all the armor, rack and winch, but still sucks. FK tank is next mod!

The speedometer appears to be off by approximately 5%, indicating a slower speed than actual. If I’m traveling 77mph on my speedometer, the gps is showing 81mph actual.

On my last tank, the odometer showed 254 miles. Applying a 5% correction factor (×1.05) gives an actual distance of 266.7 miles.

With 16.3 gallons filled, the corrected fuel economy is 16.36 MPG.

My average reading is off by around 1mpg’s.

That's really interesting. How many miles do you think you've driven after putting on the tires/armor?

I love the look of your truck btw.

Thanks. I’ve put 3600 since the build. A lot of that freeway miles roadtripping it. I almost ran out of gas on that stretch of nothingness in Utah before hitting Fruita CO because I underestimated how bad the hit would be to fuel economy! Interesting outcome, when it showed my range of zero I was able to drive another 27 miles to hit a gas station. At fill up I added 16.1 gallons, so there was still some reserve. I had driven 211 miles to that point since the last fill up. It’s nerve wrecking being in middle of nowhere Utah a night with a fuel computer telling me I have zero miles of range and the closest gas station being 27 miles away.

Quick trip to Dallas this past weekend and another update at around 7500miles in the odo.

Driving in Eco all the trip when I got back home I had about 270miles since the last fill and the computer telling me I could still go another 52miles.

The past three days I kept driving in the city and reached 332miles with the computer saying no more (pic below). Went to fill up and tank took 16.3 gallons. So, technically could have gone another maybe 15ish miles topping at 350 miles. Using calculator 20.5mpgs. I have no idea how the car computer calculates the mpgs, since it was telling me 19mpgs when I went to fill up.

All in all, pretty good IMO for road trips. I can't imagine driving more than 350miles without stopping for a pee/butt stretch anyway. I still have the crossbars, so that might also influence a bit. When I compare to my old 200, I could barely squeeze 250miles and this after the light was on for a while.

At this point, I think I would only consider the aux fuel tank for off-road or towing purposes really.

Just wait till you put 35’s on. You’ll average 16mpg

If there was a factory aux tank I would get it just because it's annoying to go the gas station. I'm mostly in town so I see about 13.7 per the computer.
