I'm not certain if this is the best place to post this, but if there's a more appropriate forum, please let me know.

I can't seem to find a thorough, comprehensive written history of the Toyota Land Cruiser available. While Wikipedia and various websites provide some information, they often contain similar content and lack depth, offering only a basic overview.

Does anyone know of a detailed and complete written history of the Toyota Land Cruiser? More than a two or three page summary?

Visit the Land Cruiser heritage museum and talk to @cruiserdan or @cruiseroutfit

A good resource is The Land Cruiser Legend: Toyota's Cult Four Wheelers - All Models and Series, from 1951 to the Present by Alexander Wohlfarth

It had been printed in 2013 and after it sold out it was going for ridiculous money - up until the point that it was reprinted in 2018 and I was able to pick up a copy for about $40. Unfortunately, that printing has sold out and people want an arm and a leg for it again. If you keep your eye out, you may find a copy for sale through a used book site for less.

When I picked up mine, I thought it was pretty funny people were paying high dollar for it only for the reprint to come out and kill the market. I don't know if first editions maintained some of the value? Looking back on it, I should have bought a dozen of them for resale, but I figured there would be regular reprints. The publishers seems to still have the German version for sale - perhaps you could contact them about an English version: Legende Landcruiser | Heel Verlag - https://www.heel-verlag.de/Legende+Landcruiser+alle+modelle+und+baureihen+von+1951+bis+heute.htm

In any case, it is an excellent book with all the information you're likely looking for.
