Hate to say it. But I think there are at least a couple threads like this one. I would link but not on a PC.

I should add my experience. 2 steering racks, every suspension bushing under truck. Couple coil packs. Couple rounds of brakes and a front diff. Owned from 125k miles to 225k miles.

I figured, but didnt know what search terms to use.

I'm at 225k miles. I have owned it for 110k miles. I have had a mechanic replace the following:

Brake Rotors: All 4
Brake Pads: All 4
Timing Belt
Water Pump
Radiator and several tubes/hoses before figuring out it was actually a crack in the top of the radiator.
Front passenger side axel
Wheel bearings
Rear springs
Tires
Valve cover gasket
A couple of pulleys
Spark plugs
Battery
I have changed out every fluid in the car a few times.
Right headlight
Both fog lights
Front right axel knuckle
Front right steering arm

I need to replace the power steering hoses as one of them has a tiny leak. I also have a coolant leak again not sure where yet though, and the lumbar support no longer works.

My 98 LC @ 216k miles:
  • Just upgraded all the suspension, gears and added front locker.
  • Fixed air conditioning.
  • Batteries (dual ;))
  • Steering rack bushings.
  • Valve cover gasket
  • Spark plug coil
  • Idler pulley
  • All fluids
  • Audio head unit

My wife's 98 LC @ 265k miles:
  • Rear seat heater condenser.
  • Battery
  • All fluids
  • Audio head unit
That's about all I can recall presently unless I pull out the files on our rigs.

I didnt even know a rear seat heater condenser existed!

Yep. Leaked all over our rear seat floor carpet. Stank like antifreeze until replaced the carpet.

I'm pretty sure that he's referring to rear heat condensor. Pretty positive there is no fluid pumping heat through the back seats. Ha!

^ Correct. It was the condenser leaking.

I had to change my blinker fluid a few times too

For me the biggest was the Transmission a few months ago around 205K miles - "catastrophic internal failure" - hauling my boat through the mountains I lost power and heard grinding - blew the transmission. 8 hours from home stuck on the side of the road with a boat attached, a bunch of camping gear and kids. Made for a memorable family vacation :)

I also had to replace front rotors - for whatever reason they were problematic from day I bought the car new. After I replaced them, no problems.

Other than that it was small normal wear and tear stuff so far. I'm sure I'm due for more $$$ things breaking soon.

Just out of curiosity, what did that cost?

I have a '00 LC with 235K on it and it's been a dream. I bought it with 50K on it. I've had all the fluids changed (not flushed) pretty recently and get the oil changed every 5000 miles religiously. I've had the timing belt/water pump, starter, and recently the radiator all replaced. I want to keep this thing forever, but I've never had any issues with the transmission, hopefully that isn't going to happen anytime soon!

Anything else I should be expecting to go? Love this forum BTW, been a lurker for years - thank you!

136k on 2005 LX470.
Replaced the suspension with a 2" OME with diff drop.
All fluids as recommended.
Brake pads
Tires
Hose
Think I need to reboot CV's small leak from DS.
Getting a new battery next week because it is 3 years old.

Moving to Maui so it will only pickup about 4k miles a year for the rest of its ownership. So in 15 years it should be do for another TB/WP service. But I will then be 81 if I can still drive or still alive ;)
