Subject says it all! Wondering what I'm probably looking at here and the best way to approach the issue. Basically when I'm accelerating, I can hear what sounds like a high pitch boost leak of sorts. When I take my foot off the accelerator, I hear a 'whoosh' sound exactly like a blow off valve. Boost still seems to be ok though (not terrible) but I do get the feeling the car is performing lower than optimal. I haven't owned it long so I'm not sure what's normal.
With the car standing still in the driveway and heavily accelerating, it definitely sounds like the air leak sound (not quite a squeal but has a high resonance to it as well) is absolutely coming from the turbo area and not the other side of the engine.
I've replaced all the old looking vacuum hoses to be sure.
I've pulled all the piping apart post turbo/pre intake manifold and assessed for splits or damage, to which their was none. Made sure to tighten up all the hose clamps well. Made no difference.
Any ideas? Cheers
