High frequency steering noise on 04 LC

Anyone else have a noise associated with steering? A couple of months ago, I got my first chirp out of my steering system while maneuvering in a parking lot. Over time, it has become more frequent. The sound is pretty faint, but it puts out a high frequency moan. On the one hand, the high frequency makes me think that it has to be coming from the pump because nothing in the steering column is turning fast enough to resonate at a high pitch. On the other hand, the sound sure seems to be coming from behind the steering wheel and not the engine compartment. The noise only happens for split seconds and for very limited degrees of rotation of the steering wheel, like from 9:00 to 10:00. Thanks for any help. John

I should have said that when the noise first started, I flushed the system and refilled with M1 AT fluid to no effect at all.

I have what sounds like a similar noise in my '04. I have not searched the forum yet, so that will be next for me when I get time. I had planned on flushing and using M1 AT fluid, but from your experience I guess that won't help.
