You would have loved it. Water flowing everywhere. You should have seen Nessy swimming her heart out.

Yeah it added extra "FUN" alright. Okay so that last pic does match the angle it felt like we were at.

At least when I asked how to have prevented it the response was "take the bypass, nothing wouldve prevented this". Made me feel a littlebetter. Still had to get pulled out by Rovers a few times though.

So when can we go back?

Wait till you see the pictures I took with Max's camera. You can see that dr tire is off the ground. Apparently it is true that locking up the rear in an off-camber situation makes it likelier to slide.

I want to see Julie's video of us sliding down Wildcat.

I heard Ed say it was off the ground. I thinking the rear locker didnt have that much to do with it. More a mix of piggy truck and caked up tires that had no traction. We hit that spot and the front end went first on the first try. On the second try the whole truck went at once. I do have permission for new tires though. On that slick downhill that was either before or after(I cant remember which) we slid off the trail and onto rocks somewhat out of control due to the weight and tires. Those tires were the suck out there.

I did read Bill Burke's article about locker use and now I want to test out some of what he said including limiting locker use on off camber/slick trails. He did mention it was a double edge sword. The locker can pull you one way but at times you need the traction from using it. Neat stuff all around.

I will say after spending all day in low range and flogging the crap out of it, the truck is running smoother and better. Getting hung up at the water crossing fixed a cat converter rattle Ive had since the Brazos run last August. Apparently it needs some wheeling every couple months to make it feel better.

Is that the spot where the infamous new Range Rover rolled a year or two ago?

I don't think it was the same spot. There was no fence but it did roll to that side.

Wait. Someone rolled a new Range Rover on that trail? I knew I shouldve done the bypass. I may have to rethink my "Ill try any trail once" motto.

If I recall correctly, that was a 13 or 14 year old child driving the rover that flipped. We did do the trail that he flipped on but that one wasn't it. ;)
