i was just wondering if anyone has a pic (doenst matter what rig really) of how to put a steering stabilizer in a rig with hi steer. i dont know if my truck originally had a stabilizer (its an 82) but if it did the mounts on the axle are gone, and although the hysteer is nice, the wheel is really wiggly and i can run over a stack of coins and tell you the exact change.
i suppose i should post this in the 60 section but i think ill get a faster response here.
thanx

Yah this should be in the 60 section, I'll move it but leave a re-direct so everyone here also sees it.

here ya go

are those u bolts just bolted on? and if so, do they hold up that way, as in, not shift around?
if thats the case this will be alot easier then i thought it would be.
thanx for the photo!

here's mine in stock location, been working great for me.

Fix what is wrong..

Stabilizers are not necessary

they work just fine. they bolt on pretty tight, so no shifting.

on a daily driver with the shackles up front, they help absorb the bumps....the fix is to swap shackles and i'm not ready to do a time consuming "fix" vs. a $40 stabilizer setup.

is everytime i hit a curb to have the wheel ripped out of my mitts something that could be fixed without the use of a stabilizer?

Ah, but if it was a stock relay rod it would be, hehe. Just wanted to show another option.

I understand that steering stabilizers don't "fix" anything, but I just figure if Toyota put one there I'll keep mine, since it can't hurt anything. Or maybe I just tink it looks cool, hehe

Don't hit curbs thought I'd jump on it before Mace, hehe

If hitting curbs with a PS equipped truck rippes the steering wheel out of your hands....

Grow muscles :flipoff2:

Doing a SR is not the fix...
Making sure your steering system is in perfect shape is the fix.

what ps??
maybe thats the problem, the onlky power in my steering is in the form of my mitts.

oh, and how else am i supposed to max out my susp if not on a curb at the nearest shoping mall?

the fj40 i had with chevy ps and hysteer was great, never had an issues turning 36s, but this bj60 is a fighter. i just want to try to take the edge off a bit and keep my fingers attached.

Whats wrong with the stock location? I run Hy-steer and just run the orginal location.

So your 60 does not have power steering?

no it does not have power steering, and the stock mounts have been cut off many moons ago looks like.
