Hi everyone. I am a new 100 series owner. I purchased this 2000 Land Cruiser from someone at work for $5k about a month ago. It has been SoCal owned its whole life and I am the third owner. It has 244k miles. I also have a 2001 4Runner.

It came with an ARB front bumper and an unknown steel rear bumper. It also has Old Man Emu shocks and I think springs (not sure) which give it a 2 inch lift. It’s kind of a struggle for my tiny mom to climb into it haha. Tires are KO2s.

First is to fix everything that is broken:
-Already changed the engine oil and plan to do the diffs and transfer case oils next.
- My CV boots are leaking not sure how long. I dont know if I should just replace the CV axles or just reboot.
- I also have power door locks that work only sometimes.
- When I perform tight turns the tires chirp. Not sure if this is ok or not.
- My Cruiser clunks when going into reverse. I am going to drain and fill the transmission fluid and hope this fixes it. If not I might have to take it to an expert.

I will try to search the forums for similar issues and solutions but in the meantime I hope you all have a great day.

Welcome to the 4P3 Metallic Desert Bronze Club! (And to 100's in general):beer::beer:

The clunk could actually be the front diff mount bushing.
Door lock actuator motors are probably wearing out. They are replaceable without replacing the entire actuator.
If they work poorly when it's hot out but work fine in the cold, that's it.

Welcome to mud, all of your questions have answers on this forum. I use my typical search engine and add “ih8mud 100” + search topic.

Clunks are well documented, could be splines on FDS, the hubs, simple greasing the driveline.

Look up door actuators here plenty of posts on that.

welcome . you got a great deal on that rig. Plenty of resources here on the forum to help you resolve those minor issues

Welcome! I see you got a 3rd gen 4R as well... I too got a 3rd gen 4R.

Welcome! Is that front window tint on a vehicle with California plates? Can't you get state ref'd for even thinking about front tint? I hear best case scenario, in certain cases, if a trooper is nice and feels like simple education and a warning would do the trick, they will just execute you roadside. You are braver than me. I would not dare to go to NJ and CA with front tints.

Yeah but to be honest so many people have tints around here that it's not really enforced.

All 4 of my vehicles have front tints. Didn't even know this was a thing!?!?

I'm living on the edge man!!

Light hearted post of course. When I got sent to Monterey for schooling, I drove up in my Ram with Florida legal (35%) fronts. I rolled my windows down everytime I saw an LE vehicle. Even when I saw absolutely nobody, I would roll them down sometimes. I could not afford a single citation, I ran a risk of being dismissed from my course. So my paranoia was through the roof.

I grew up in FL and was transferred out here from VA. Got pulled over on the way in on the 8 in San Diego.
Thinking back, the CHP did tell me the front tints were going to be a problem, but the ticket was for speeding.

When I was researching gun and tint laws, I came across an obscene amount of articles/forum posts/etc. about draconian views on tints. Perhaps chp mooks should consult with FHP/GSP/TDPS with how to go about their business and not pull "officer safety" bullfeces, Compton and Oakland should not fk over the whole state. Obvious money grab and a portal for fishing expeditions. Florida has tint laws, they are loosey goosey but they are there, and normally tints are a second offense.

So anyways... It's great to meet you all. If anyone in SoCal wants to go wheeling after the fires die down please hit me up! I'm usually more active on IG (my handle is 2yota_nerd). Have a great day all.
