Happy New Years!

It's been busy since I got back from my Asia trip - thanksgiving then christmas.

Hamilton unit has been amazing! Carplay is solid. Seemless integration with stock functionality. You are all welcome to check it out in person if you can make it out to La Mesa or East County!

My Lucid Air lease is up in April so the LX will not be seeing much action except for the fly fishing expeditions to Eastern Sierra a couple of weekends. But once the current garage queen is gone, I can't wait to thinker and make it nice.

One thing I thought about doing was building a box that will serve as a shelf in the trunk space behind the third row so that when 2nd row and 3rd row are folded, everything is a flat deck. I'm sure someone's done that already in this forum.

Welcome to the 200 family. I’m also a huge lover of fly fishing, heck all types of fishing to be honest. I tried using my lx570 on a couple outdoor trips to the sierras and trinity river but for some reason it just doesn’t work out for me as much as my 100 series or my tundras. My lx570 is a family hauler until I’m able to gather up the courage to put 35s on it and chop the bumpers to improve the approach and departure angles. And my 100 series has a full sleeping platform so I’m able to crawl into bed and get a good nights sleep after a long day of casting and not catching. Pics of my LX’s.

I’m into kayak fishing now so I don’t use my lx’s much anymore more since it’s easier to load the kayak on the tundra.

I’d say, just go out with the 570 and explore, see what you like and dislike about it and modify from there.

I forgot to mention, what I hate most about both the 100/200 series is the poor gas mileage and small gas tank. The range is ridiculous and it might not be an issue for a lot of people but I also bird hunt a lot so I have to cover a lot of ground during a 3-4 day trip and end up always having to go back into the city to gas up.

That is a hog!! Where was that?

Yeah that is sage advice about using it first and seeing what works.

I hear you about range. I have a Rivian that I took up to the Sierras, and the reason I decided to go back to gas is because of the range. The LX also has to be my daily commuter/people hauler. I also have a 2nd gen sequoia that is RWD. I'm toying with the idea of replacing that with a 4wd sequoia. I'm heavy with the san diego fly fishers club and will be going to a ton of trips this year, so I will have many chances to test ideas and see what works.

Tight lines buddy!

I'm a physician and had to deal with lots of gun shot wounds back in residency days. I'm traumatized by their destructive tendencies. But I still love the idea of hunting my own food... I especially want to experience hunting ducks. My son got a Weihrauch HW30 for x-mas so we'll slowly ease into it. You seem like you know what you like to do. I admire that a lot.

Let’s get together one day in San Diego to fish and I’ll show you my lx470 series fishing and sleeping setup. My first gen tundra is also rwd, I wish it was 4x4 but I’m not going to buy another one to replace it.

I would love that. I'm really bummed out about Loveland reservoir. That was my go to spot last year; easy fishing for bass. My friends just brought me to Pauma Creek few weeks ago. They caught native rainbow on nymphs; I hooked one but lost it on the way in. I'm also eyeing Boulder Creek with this rain. It's busy planning for the new years right now but I'll DM you.
