Oh! Come on gents! We all know about the itch from the orient. Those ladies have a different view of family life than we do!
But the man just wants to go out to play! (with the truck, as in wheeling) Isn't that what we do? Show the man a trail or two! It's not that hard!
I'd do it myself, but I live up north, and besides, I have to run my rig to the beach this week, where there is not a rock in sight. So it is up to you guys.
Just show him a trail or two. He only gets a short time in the US. Its not that hard. But the snide remarks are hard to resist! Just try to be kind. He traveled a long way...
If a guy traveled half-way around the globe and wanted to wheel with me, I would take him to the most memorable place possible, and give him the whole history of the area. In the eyes of the world, we live in the wild west, where the movies were made. I might make a comment about the "itch" but only once. If he comes here to see the "wild west" from so far away, the least that I can do is respect his own home.
I actually live within a few miles of the few remaining real old saloons that are still in business. I wish I could run a short tour. It would have to be short, given my friendship with Demon Rum. I could very well have lunch in one saloon, and munchies in the second. But by the third, I might give in to the temptation. By the fourth, I would have to decide who is going to drive me back to get my truck in the morning..... Oh! Yes! I could show the man the real old west. The 100-year-old bars with bullet holes in the old oak. The old-time shots of whiskey. They are all over the Prescott area. Not just on Whiskey row, but all over the area. There are many saloons that have been in business since the 1880's. I have helped to remodel one of them, but otherwise, I stay away. The old west is alive and well here. It is just as well that I will be in SoCal by tomarrow.....sober
