well we just got home from a monster drive to Chesnee and back. There was a traffic backup on 85 SB from the SC border almost to Charlotte. Thank God for smartphones. nuff said there.....From what we could tell on the trip back there was an accident and a vehicle must have hit a bridge. Haven't checked the news yet for details....

Anyway I am beat so will keep this short. wanted to post up some initial thought and some slider porn to get things started. First off, I cannot say enough nice things about Stan and Heather and what they have going on at HFS 4x4. it was a 6 hour round trip but it was well worth the time. Stan is a top notch guy. Initial impressions of the work is great. Fit, form and function is great. There is a lot of attention to detail that goes into his work and it really shows.

And now for the porn............

ok so in the beginning I was not digging the idea of the expanded metal. But after talking it through, the idea of a little one climbing in or our of the truck....slipping and having a leg or ankle snap from it going through the gaps would be too much to bear. So we covered the whole slider with it. I gotta admit it looks better than I thought it would too. This is what I like about Stan. he could have just built what I asked for and been done with it, but he really thinks things through and I know I am happier and will not worry about my little ones now.

I'll post more pics later to show some of the finer details but its late and I am dead tired. enjoy for now guys.

please excuse the poor picture quality. taken with a blackberry with fading light. I'll try to get more detailed pics later. let me know if anyone wants to see anything in particular.

On a side note the 35's go on next week. Can't wait to see the how the new toys make the ole girl look.

Eric,
I may have missed an earlier post, but had you already taken the vehicle down and left it with Stan to have the sliders mounted? Look great by the way. I'm considering them for my 60. Ed

the expanded metal turned out nice.

Lookin good Eric, now lets get those 35's on and go scrape some paint off em

Ed I would not hesitate to take the 60 down. Took him a few day o get them done. I think most of the time was to let the paint cure a bit longer. Pricing is very reasonable too. Thanks for all the kind words. I am ready to get the 35s on and make a test run.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

I think that if you have little ones there is no better option than the expanded metal. I have the sections in front of the doors on the FJC done in it and it has held strong for 3+ years. We have found it is great to remove mud from your boots as well. It is also far easier to clean than you may think.

I think I'll be doing the ops of the sliders for my 60 like Eric's. I kind of dig it and it will make loading a roof rack easier as well.

I like the expanded steel, very sharp. Good work Stan:cheers:

Eric, truck looks better than ever. It's going to be a different truck with the 35's on!

Couple more pics of Stan's handywork:
