I have tried a few off of early Toyotas and all would work with at most a couple of slight bends. IIRC the grommet and clip are available from Space age, cheap.

Works great....

Another guy did a quick write up.

Space age?

Have never heard of this place, but need the grommet and clip for my prop rod on my 60. Details if available?

Here are the Toyota part #'s

90480‑15002 GROMMET (FOR HOOD SUPPORT ROD) FJ62 List $2.22
53452‑90351 HOLDER, HOOD STAY FJ62 List $4.95

Probably the same parts as a 60.

I just tried one from a 1/96 2wd Taco. Is the right length, would need a couple of slight bends to work perfectly. If you are pick&pull shopping, my guess is any of them will work.

Space age is a big paint&body shop supply store in Mesa. They carry a huge selection of clips, moldings, etc, at good prices. Probably not much help to you in Tucson!:hillbilly:

You used the FJ62 hood stay clip? My '84 mini clip looks like it would also work.

There are several different clips, angle, height, square hole size and rod OD, varies. When doing a swap, I prefer buying from a place that has a big selection to choose the "best" one. Space age has big cards with sample clips fastened to them, allowing easy selection.

They carry Auveco brand:
Auveco Products - Automotive, Industrial and Specialty Fasteners

The grommet and the clip for the 62 are the same part numbers as a non US 80 with the prop rod. The only part we can't get to "do it right" is the rod, 53451-60010. The 60/62 rod (53451‑90A00) works just fine, though.

At < 25 bucks for the new parts, I can't afford to try to find a used one.
