The 62 has a 3fe engine which came in the early 80 series as well, from my understanding we didnt get manuals here in the states for this set up so you will prolly have to find an aussie spec 5 speed, which may be pretty pricey.

i working on getting a 4 speed manual off bk40 to install till spring then the v8 swap comes.
I am looking into this as well for my FJ62. My impression is that the H55F is the best bet. You can search for Dunbar's posts on this subject; he put an H55F into his FJ62 and loves it. The transmission itself is easy to get from the major parts supplers. I have gotten wide ranging estimates for install (sound like you might do it yourself). Seems like a good estimate for transmission + parts + labor = $5000.
Performance is apparently great and transforms the vehicle and is fun to drive. Since this combo was offered overseas it feels stock. Final drive ratio is slightly less than with auto so your highway rpms will be a little higher but not significant. 1st gear is very low => good for offroad.
