Was just curious as to how hard a shackel reversal really was. MY dad called man-a-fre and i was going to get a 4 inch kit...FINALLY!...but i guess they talked to long and the guy at man-a-fre told my dad that we had to have it professionally done. I was so close to getting it done this time and i dont want to give up and i want some info to show my dad. So how hard would a 4-inch kit with a shackel reversal really be....i apologize for all of the lift threads i know theyre are thousands out there i just need some advice realy quick.

I think a shackle reversal requires welding. There are pro's and con's re shackle reversal. I have no personal experience, so don't have an opinion that's worth much. However, I've gotta ask - why do you need 4"? What size tire are you going to run. 33"'s work great on a cruiser and work fine with standard 3" lift. If you want to run 35's, one option is a 3" suspension lift + 1" body lift. Totally bolt-on, no welding required. Ya, I'm prolly old and boring like your dad...sorry...

The shackle reversal requires some easy grinding and some welding. I had a friend do it for me. I was 17 went I put on the reversal and the OME suspension. It took me a few days to complete the whole thing. It was easy but getting the suspension to fit in right took some muscle. Good luck and post some pics of progress!

Why do you want one so bad????

In georgia i mainly only get to see mud hole's and a lift with 33 inch MT's would help. 18 year old bro has a fj-40 with 33's and a f-150 with 35's. The 40 is unstoppable.

So why do you want a Shackle reversal?

I can talk about my SR experience .. and was so good ..

And right it requires some good welding in front.

But I do it that I want a soft really soft Land Cruisr and I got it. So if you only want a cheap lift go SO and your 35"gonna fit very fine.

This pic was taken when I got 33" baja claws SR + 6" rear extreme shackles ( to compensate the new lift that you get with SR kit ) and 2.5 OME ..

So I can say, no traccion loose, no steering problems .. no nothing .. only good things I can say about SR kit.

I hope that can help ..
