I need to weld up some simple tabs to mount my winch.. Should be super easy..
Is there anyone here who can offer some guidance and and advice.
I just hate to always have to go back to pay over an over for all the small welding projects.. So I'd like to learn and get some help and learn very basic welding.. I'm considering to buy the 70 Amp Arc Welder

The tabs I am welding are just to bolt to the frame, it's a heavy worm gear winch.. https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/560528-thomas-winch-australia.html
Anyhow I have already prepped and cut pre-fit etc.. all is good in the front where the winch bolts to my TJM winch bumper (load bearing part). The tabs on the back are just needed as weight bearing tabs so that the full weight of the winch is not resting on the front of the bumper bolts only.. Basically to rest the back of the winch on the frame and relieve that stress from the bumper that will bear the full forward force of the winch as it's pulling..
Anyhow if anyone can help with advice or hand on help I would sure very much appreciate it! will be happily provided to enhance the learning experience! :D

I'm in SE Gilbert, but if you're willing to drive over here, I'll do the welding for you. Bring some scrap metal with you and I'll show you some basics.

I'm in Tempe I can help if that falls through. I have a mig and probably have some scrap around, for a tab
Let me know if I can help .
thanks
Don

Awesome Pm's sent... I basically have everything I need as far as metal !

This CSC rocks!

I'm in Tempe as well, Ray and Rural, and would be glad to do some welding for you. I'll be out working in my garage with the welder today, Thursday and Saturday. Let me know if I can help.

This group rocks! rebelnoclu actually helped me out this last Saturday, He's got a nice garage, and his 4runner is modified beyond most people's abilities.. We used a Mig welder with gas and it worked out great!!!
Installed a Nissan pathfinder circa 1990 tire carrier latching mechanism, I gout out of the local pick-N-pull on my tire carrier.. Worked out perfectly.. Now my :princess: can open the tire carrier single handed and load up the groceries no problem..
I'll post up some pictures when I get back home.. For now back to work before I get canned! :D
