Per the title - I thought I had fixed my rear hatch area water intrusion issue over the summer, but we had a heavy rain recently and it’s back. I have installed new top hatch struts and sealed up the third brake light.

I hear water somewhere in the back hatch when I go around corners, but can’t identify the source. It doesn’t appear to be in the upper or lower hatch doors. Where else could it be accumulating? Thought it was in the spare tire (that was embarrassingly original when I got it), but that’s now sorted and can’t be it. Where else am I looking?!

check the third row cubby for moisture/water. if present your leak may come from the rear side window exterior trim from where the mounting holes.

third row cubby? Below the side windows?

Another symptom - kid said the drivers second row seatbelt was wet after a particularly hard rain. Still doesn’t explain where water is accumulating.

Alright, took another look today after overnight rain. Nothing wet on the interior in back. Water is getting into, but not out of, the body crossmember above the spare tire. I popped off the plastic plug (unfortunately, to the interior of the channel…have to figure out how to retrieve that now).

Still unclear on how water is getting in to this channel, or if there are supposed to be drains going out of it. I’m tempted to drill a couple small holes and prime surfaces to keep water from pooling in there, but would rather identify how things are entering in the first place!

Look at the side 1/4 window lower mouldings where they attach to the 1/4 panel. There are some clips that have foam seals on them that degrade with time.

Check the side panels for signs of water leaks. The sub woofer is always a good catch.

Heavy rain can play havoc on water getting in everywhere.

You have to take the 1/4 windows out to fully access replacing the trim parts and socket clips.
