Looks good, should work, I wondered if you could get below the caliche, that is the key there. I would think that a post hole auger through the caliche would also help a perc rate if you could not get the trench below. Anything to break the layer would alow percolation.

On a side note, do you know what makes caliche? It is the point where any and all water that falls on the ground in a dry climate is used by the vegetation above it. As the moistures soaks through the ground it takes the minerals, mainly calcium from the surface soil and carries downward, as the plants roots absorb the water the minerals are left. After eons of this pattern, a thick layer of calcium is depositied at the cuttoff point. The drier the climate, yet still gets rain, the shallower and thicker the caliche layer.

Caliche can occur anywhere, it is just worst in areas like the US southwest. In wet areas the moisture balance is such that the rain and snow soaking into the ground is more than the vegetation can use, and the water seeps all the way down, taking the minerals with it, and not leaving that layer.

So if you water the yard enough, you might break that up in a few mellinia.

These things are great. Installed one for a neighbor to drain their roof gutter, a dry well.
I would never go back to perf pipe and rock if I did not have to.

Mine is Infiltrator too. They make different styles

If only you held the patent right?;)

Looks like 6' sections, the ones I used were 4.
