Help With ID of Part (1 Viewer)

Was driving today and found this spring at my feet on the front drivers side. I looked up underneath the dash to see if I could determine where it came from but hard to get a good visual. Any ideas?

That sure looks like a spring that belongs in parking brake shoe. Did you recently do some work on your parking brakes?
 
Get deep into the driver's wheel well and look up and forward (or take a photo) and check for the spring.

Check for other missing parts like the fat (clevis) pin that the spring attaches to at the brake pedal arm and the small spring clip that holds the larger pin in place.

IME that spring should not just drop out unless something somehow knocked it out of place, but it's happened to a few other people:
