Hola....

Well I need to get my '68 piggy running good for possible sale... :crybaby:

It is not the original engine it has the .5 in it... (oil filter on passenger side)
It needs a carb rebuild but I do not know what carb is on it....
Has a round sight glass. The numbers just below air cleaner tube say ISO 4I26 and there is a little metal tag on one of the screws with 60205 on it.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

pics would help.

the date code is sept 26 19*4... could be 74 or maybe 84. the metal tag makes it sound like a 74, since the later carbs had a sticker on the sec diapram housing with the part number.

aluminum valve cover and waterpump?

Get your kits from cruiseroutfitters.com kurt has good prices and great service.

55's of the '74 vintage also have ported vacuum....very desirable. I run one on my '40. You need a can of Berryman's Carb Dip, lacquer thinner and compressed air and you'll be fine. Oh, and do get a rebuild kit from Kurt as Brett mentioned or Jim Chenoweth (FJ40Jim@aol.com) or Mark Algazy at Marksoffroad.net

The '70-'74 carbs are pretty simple and straightforward. I rode the short bus and have done 5-6.;)

By the code stamped on the top "4 I 28" it is an October 28, 1974 manufacture date.
