Hey folks. I'm new to the forum. I just bought a 2008 LC with 80 k on it. It is in great condition and the first 1000 miles have been a blast. Most city and highway driving. Only weird thing we have noticed is a off and on there comes this whining almost chirping like sound that comes from over on the front passenger side inside the car. It seems to be related to when we used the heat/ fan and seems to be more prevalent if we increase the fan intensity. I literally have to slap the dash for it to stop But then it will come back a little while down the line. Any help with this? I haven't taken it in for any work or service yet since buying.

Normally...Whining and Chirping sounds from the passenger seat...

...means you brought the kids along (ba-dum-TING!). ;)

Could be as simple as a loose fan-blade or spinner. Computer fans often develop this whine...
If it only happens with the fan speed...at least you can rest easy that its nothing serious with your vehicle.

If it was really bugging me, I'd likely take it to Toyota and take a tech for a ride so he can listen for it.

Try cycling your air from fresh to recirc and back again. If you notice a difference, you might want to check and make sure your cabin air filter is installed properly.

Hey Brian, how do you get at the blower fan motor? Got the ol' rattle n hum going on with mine and picked up a replacement but I'm buggered if I can figure out how to get at it. From below the glove box or from inside? Any guidance appreciated.

Cheers Bill

I had to extract leaves on occasion with Tundra trucks. I am not sure if the 200 is susceptible or not but we are at the end of the leaf dropping season.
