Hey all! What do you think about trading my cruiser for a new one at a sizable discount to MSRP? (Fully understand holdback)

The body style change offers a rare, great opportunity to snap up a brand new, 0 mile LC200 at a sizable discount. I think I'd keep it for a long time.

Currently working around avg $10k off with a few dealers. Id like to decide for or against by tomorrow...I Need thoughts regarding my rigs trade in...

My 14 LC200 is black / black, 2014, 75% highway miles (23k total, but second owner, with 17k miles on the car) serviced at the same Toyota dealer since I owned. Rock solid. Clay barred and waxed quarterly, original tires (need new shortly) etc. well cared for.

Would like other opinions regarding what my car is worth, aside from the BS the dealers like to give :)

Thanks in advance!

Just a guess; $67k?

A dealer will offer you about 59-60 on it. Ask me how I know :) We just gave $57,000 on a 2013 with 11k miles in perfect condition. Depending where your from will matter a little bit too. Good luck on a brand new one :)

Thanks for the insight. I haven't gone into any discussions. He showed me $54k as a first offer (which wasn't a surprise). He didn't look at the car to arrive at it either, so I know it will go up if I come back.

I have no idea; I'm drunk.

This dealer has sold over twenty new cruisers this year, so they have carved out a nice niche. They have also sold several late model used. Last week they had an identical used

Good discussion so far. Thank you! Definitely welcome any other thoughts as I review this decision.

I'd think 60k ish....

Really depends on your region. Here in CO you probably would get more than most other states.

Thanks everyone. Just to clarify, is this what you expect a dealer to ask, or what you'd expect to pay? Dealer had an indentical cruiser in recent weeks for $60k. Sold within a week. They said they lost their shirt on it :)

Looks like I follow their market as well as they do. Given the above, what would you guys pay for this car, with no dealer markup?

Wat model year is the LC you want to purchase. A '15 with $10K discount to me indicates that you will get less that you would expect on a trade. $54K is in the ballpark. If your talking about a '16 then $50K might be the expected offer. That might improve after the first of the year if sales are slow. I always strike the deal on the new vehicle before I even ask about a trade. That way you know the true value of both. You would be much better of selling the '14 yourself.

I would also suggest getting a value from Carmax before negociating with the dealer.

Black Book Average trade-in is $58,720, Clean is $60570. A black 14 with 22k sold for $58k plus buyers fees of about $500 at dealer auction in PA recently.

That's good news. Any way to get more detail on this info? That's exactly the range I want to be in.... Would love to be armed with the best info if / when I go back to the dealer this afternoon.

I would venture a guess that it's the dealer in Fayetteville in north west ARKANSAS sine Gohog mentioned he is in NWA.
He sells the most LC in the whole region and has usually 2 to 4 in inventory, almost bought mine from there, but I got a better deal from a dealer in fort smith who don't sell many LC and had mine on their lot for a while.
