still misfiring- Follow up- fixed

I had a tune up done about 3 weeks ago. Relpacing wires, cap, rotor, plugs, air filter, and oil.
A week later the engine developed a misfireor skip.
I typed up a question to post and Beowolf mentioned the vac lines and /or air filter hoses could be loose. That helped some but still have the mis.
I have a 94 so the ODB ll reader will not work.
Can I use an ODB reader to get the answer to solve this problem?
I didn't want to replace wires or cap etc with new parts yet...

There is no OBD reader. All you get are flashes of the check engine light.

Why did you replace the wires? Were they bad? Plugs gapped properly? All the wire boots seated properly? Got any vacuum leaks?

CDan, the thing was running perfect. Just wanted to replace stuff I "thought" would help.
The check engine light isn't on. Boots are set right from what I see.
Vac lines have been checked.

Pat,

A rough idle and a misfire is commonly due to:

1. Spark problems
2. Vacuum leak.
3. Fuel problems.

Since you have installed new OEM plugs, wires, cap, and rotor (you did use OEM, right?) then the problem might be vacuum or fuel. It could also be coil related so check those parts of the FSM for testing procedures.

I suggested checking the big hose that goes to the air filter because many have found cracks in this hose and it will cause rough idle, stumble on acceleration, and even MIL codes. You can spray carb cleaner at suspected areas where you may have a leak. The engine will smooth out for a short period if you spray a leaking area.

If all possible vacuum leaks are eliminated, start checking fuel delivery. Run a tank of BG44K (?) or Red Line fuel system cleaner. It is not uncommon for injector wires to become broken or shorted. Two common areas are where the main engine harness enters the firewall and underneath the glove box. The next area is where the harness goes past the EGR valve. There will be heat tape around this area but the wires still get brittle and break.

Keep us posted.

Beowulf, I need to take off the air cleaner hoses ( the only place I didn't look for cracks) and look under them. Also, no FSM yet...
I checked the wires to see if they were loose, they looked good as they are new. The mechanic who did the tune up he replaced old plug wires with belden's. Good or bad? I traveled from NY to PA last night (a 4 hour trip) and seems to run fine
at 65 mph and above. But, I can feel the misfire a high speeds too, but not as bad as at idle.
I'm not sure the missing is fuel related. I had a can of Seafoam in my hand at the auto store, but remembered reading a post that it does a number on gaskets... I'm driving 4-5 hours back home tomorrow so I was considering adding bg 44k instead of Seafoam and see if it helps.
I have added lucas to the gas tank a couple months ago.
Just funny this strange misfire happens after a tune up I probably didn't even need....Geez!

So seafoam or 44 for the ride home????

Ra cha cha! I'm in Philly, heading to Harrisburgh, then home Sunday by way of the NJ turnpike. I'll buy the first 12... I'm Irish...
By 9 pm tonight I won't care.....Happy New Year...

Well the misfire problem has been solved.
The answer this time- Redline fuel injector cleaner. Thank the good lord it wasn't the wiring harness. What a mess that would be...

Thanks for the help, again!

08813-00080 is a bad number. Did you swap a couple digits around?
