So, long story short, I bought a new 80 series with no A/C, so I replaced the expansion valve and got a bleed and recharge and it worked. For about three days and one 6 hour roadtrip I had no issues, until on the third or fourth day I got some awful screaming sounds coming from the front of the car which I now assume to be leaking. A/C then ran out. I tightened up leaks, made sure the system held vacuum, and bought new cans to recharge, but upon putting the first can in, I could visibly see a leak coming out of the pipe pictured in the photos below. When I checked the high and low pressure gauge, the high was at something like 0 PSI, whereas the low was over 100 PSI, so I promptly let up the valves and the first bottle bled out. I found the pipe/hose that was leaking gas in only one forum on this page where the guy said his was leaking coolant. I haven’t leaked any coolant, and I know it was refrigerant because when the system bled the pipe stopped leaking.

So, here’s the problem. I CANNOT find where the hose/pipe is supposed to connect or where it comes from. I looked in my buddies ‘97 and couldn’t find anything that looked like it. I live in Georgia right now and it is hot and humid everyday so A/C is fairly necessary. Does anyone know where this hose goes or what it is or how to fix it?

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I’m not of much help, try here:

Hey, sorry everybody, I didn't get any notifications that the post had been responded to. I'm still fairly new to the forum and the user interface is not the friendliest on mobile lol. Thanks for the comments, I think I found the exact part, but as one of you said above, it's been discontinued. When it was blowing gas it looked to me like it was coming from the bypassed PHH which led to a couple weeks of confusion as I am pretty new to the platform still. I was chasing down a pipe that led to nothing lol. But yes, it's the AC line, and as of right now I think I'm going to get a new one custom fabricated as it seems that's the easiest option. Thanks everyone for your help!
