We had a good bit of rain here in SoCal today. At about 5pm this evening, my wife and I noticed that the LC's parking lights were on. The lights weren't on at 4pm when I got home from work (rode my bike). They weren't on when I left for work this morning. Nobody has driven the truck this week. The only thing that happened to the truck today was the (heavy) rain.
I took the rig for a drive tonight to get some fuses, just in case. It was dark out while I was driving. While driving, I noticed that when I had my foot on the brake (e.g., at a stop light), the lights illuminating the dash board and backlighting the buttons on the console and radio were dark. They would light up when I took my foot off the brake.
The truck was in significant rain around Thanksgiving, and again earlier this month, and it did not experiences any electrical gremlins like this. I'm looking for advice from experienced forum-ers ... how do I troubleshoot this?
I've done some searching in the forums on what might be causing this. Someone has suggested a clogged sun roof drain, so I'm going to check that in the morning. Another has said it could be a blown fuse, so I'll look for a fuse I can replace. What else could it be?
Thanks in advance for sharing your experience with this type of problem.
