Yes. Looks like a pinion gear thrust washer. But the pinion gears stayed in place. I don't know which one it came from. I don't see another one anywhere.
Actually I remember one did move. So I am thinking I will move the other one and make sure one is there, then put this one in the other side.
Does that make sense?
 
There appears to be two Pinion Thrust washers, one on each side of each pinion gear on the Pinion Shaft. Two Side Gear Thrust Washers, one / side gear.

Just got done with my rear diff- the gear can stay in and still have that washer slip out while trying to juggle the install. I'd bet that is what happened.
EDIT/ADD: A smear of grease will help hold the thrust washer to the gear while assembling.
