I have a 2002 TLC and would like to know how to remove the AC vent in the dash on the passenger side. mine is broken and would like to replace (cheapest I found was $120 ouch!) or try to fix on the inside. It seems like you can tug on it from the outside and it will pull out - but not sure - do i need to get in from inside of the dash - any help would be great - thanks!

If you mean the center vent on the passenger side, there is lots of information on the board about removing it by carefully prying around the edge. If you mean the right side passenger vent, the service manual shows 2 screws holding that to the dash and I don't see a way to get them with the dash installed. However, perhaps the vent cover is just clipped in from the outside and will pop out if gently coaxed with a tape-covered screwdriver.

oh sorry - yes i mean the vent assembly on the right side in the dash by the front passenger door. the assembly includes the vent and slider switch to open and close the vent on the back end. the issue that i have is in the inside of the vent there are pieces of the vent that are broken. I just wanted to get in there and see if i could fix it. maybe i can just pull the vent ( that move up and down and side to side) out only? and not the assembly? thanks!

ok i figured it out - use a flathead screw driver with tape on the end (to protect the plastic) and lodge in between the vent and the assembly side and push to the side forcing out the pivot point. my vent was broken on the inside and i fixed with super glue - the vent is in the assembly held by the pivot points on each side of the vent. - the plastic will flex enough to pull out of the side holes.
