HELP NOW! MAF, Plugs, no start, flashing lights (1 Viewer)

followed write up from this site on cleaning MAF and changing spark plugs on 02 4runner. only thing i did different is when cleaning MAF i did not remove relay only unhooked negative battery cable. hooked everything back up, as soon as i put neg terminal back on hazard and dash backlight started flashing. no turn over nothing. CEL does not blink. Lights will blink for a short time then stop, when i turn the key to start the CEL comes on with the other dash lights. am i not resetting the computer right or what?

I'm guessing alarm issue. Very weird set of symptoms. Have you had the battery unhooked before?

I think I would be taking the negative lead off and then the positive lead.
Wait a few minutes then put the positive lead on and then the negative lead.

If that doesn't help then I would be revisitng the MAF sensor again.

Have you tried locking then unlocking the door locks. Had my truck sitting 8 months....new battery connected same symptoms....turned lock cylinder...lights stopped flashing and 4runner started. Mine is a 2000.

your put the spark plug wires correctly?
