Afternoon to all,

My Stock OEM shocks are dead after 250k miles, so I ordered the Pro Comp ES9000 because they were only $150 for a set of 4 shocks. In the near future I plan to purchase old man emu shocks and lift but I rather invest the money in my house.

The Pro Comp ES9000 924514 rear shocks are fine, they are stem to eye shocks. However, I was not aware that the Pro Comp ES9000 924530 front shocks are stem to stem. I am trying to avoid the headache of shipping back the front shocks as I've already have the stock front shocks out and I want to get my LC back on the road.

I've done some research and found that my only solution would be to use an shock mount conversion kit to convert the stem to eye. In this case, I've ordered the Warrior Shock Mount Conversion to see if I can convert the Pro Comp stem to eye.

I've also created a incident with Prop Comp (awaiting there response) to see if this will work. My question to ih8mud members, will this work on my LandCruiser 100 series?

I've attached a picture so that you can see what I am referring to.

Note: I do not do any off-roading in my rig but playing in the snow during the winter.

Thank you

I cant say if this will work or not, but I think I spent around $140-150 last year for all 4 OEM shocks, which is comparable to what you paid. I would just get the OEM shocks and call it a day. The company who sent you the wrong shocks should let you return it, it is not your fault here. If you buy it online, they should pay shipping charge too.

I was thinking about purchasing OEM, Monroe or Rancho but I did not like the reviews. I typically drive my rig through the city in areas with horrible potholes so I decided to purchase the Pro Comps. If only Blistins were cheaper.

I'm waiting for response from the 4WheelerParts (eBay contact) but speaking to someone over the phone (Corporate), I need to pay for shipping to return the item and once it is return they will send out the part. I do not agree that I should pay for shipping for an item that is not correct, especially since it is an exchange.

I'm also waiting for Pro Comp to confirm that their database is correct because it shows part 924530 as the front shocks which are stem to stem but in actual reality, the Land Cruiser 100 series requires steam to eye.

I wonder if the Pro Comp ES9000 924514 (that are stem to eye) could be used as front shocks?

Thanks

I cant advice you on the shocks, but I would push back about paying shipping cost to return the wrong shocks. That's just ridiculous imo. They sent shocks that do not fit, then it is their responsibility to get you the right shocks. If they don't have one in stock, then they need to eat the cost of shipping them back, and return your money.

bctlex is correct. The company said they would fit and didn't. Should be replaced at no additional cost to you.

With the conversion kit, make sure the shocks are ok with the shorter travel. If you hit a lot of potholes, are you ok with the shorter travel? Also, the mounts need bushings, whether the kit is used or not. Will the shock bushings fit in the conversion kit? You indicated bad reviews of OEM for city use? For the driving you do, they may be the least expensive and best shock. If it were my rig, I would get the right shock and not attempt a questionable retrofit of the wrong shock.

I would skip the retrofit...one more point of failure and why try the work around when they should send you the right product anyway.

Yes, before I do anything I'm checking with Pro Comp Corporate Monday.4

I hear you, I am checking with Pro Comp to confirm that the Pro Comp Shock 924530 are stem to stem and requires as adapter. If Pro Comp confirms part 924530 is stem to eye and then I am going to request that the shipping fee be waved.

My day was going fine until after the windy storm and found my bimmer took a hit.
