Now the A/C does not come on until the ignition has been on for at least 15 seconds, and then its always at 75 degrees with the fan on low.

I can't decide if I feel like taking it back b/c of that or not. I guess so.

I had the same issue. Take it back.

Here's a post a made on the issue and the thread:

I had this same issue and it was HELL getting toyota to fix it (3 FTS's sent in from all over the country).

Here is my thread on it:

Can you all help me with something?

Have them check behind the glove box at a part that has an arm on it. It controls a vent redirection unit in that area. Mine was opening and disconnecting a harness causing the AC system to reboot with default settings.

I can see if I have any more info on it, but it was VERY difficult to diagnose.

If you tell Toyota that this is a known issue, they can look it up. I'm sure there was a TSB created after my incident.

Good luck!

JB: Is there any way the Nav override install would come near touching that? If you think so, I want to call them first.

Update, the override guys said they were back behind the glovebox and could have done it. I will go there tomorrow and see if they cant fix it.

Yes. It's very possible. Behind the glovebox and to the right is the Nav control box. It is where also where the override connects into. Where the override unit is installed could be in the way of the motor which drives the recirculate ducting. You can see this ducting when you open the glovebox and remove that plastic cover. It's where the climate air filter is installed. When you press recirc, you should see that motor drive the top of the duct up and down. I'd test this and report back what happens.

JB your fix was perfect. The A/V shop fixed it in no time. Thank you so much.

Glad you got it fixed. There have now been three of us on the forum with this issue all due to the motor control of the recirculation vent. There are no error codes generated when this system resets. I think Toyota should create a TSB on this...
