It's easy enough to replace that if it's still working fine, just run it. I'm all for preemptively replacing things, but I'm not made of money, either.
Thanks. Those are my thoughts too. I think I may pull the trigger on a Spectra (aftermarket) tank & straps for ~$300 from RockAuto. Comes with a 3 year warranty. Doesn't seem like a bad deal to me. I plan to coat it in rust protection.

So, the wait for parts begins.... I went aftermarket for the tank and straps ($350 shipped), then spent about $275 on new OEM hoses, tubes, gaskets, and threw in some Heater T's. It seems like a lot for rubber parts, but the piece of mind is worth it. It will be a fun weekend, as everything should be here Friday. My only concern is the skid plate, or gas tank protector (p/n# 77606-60120). I can't seem to find one under $300, and I know mine is pretty krusty. I'm thinking about just refurbishing the best I can with elbow grease and POR-15... Does anyone know where to source a cheap one? I haven't found any used or aftermarket ones yet.

New tank is getting installed this week. As much as I hate it, I'm reusing the rusty tank skid. I couldn't find a used one or a new one for a reasonable price. There seems to be minimal on the used market, and the new price is the same as what I paid for the tank and straps....

The new tank is in! I can actually fill the tank up all the way now. In total, the new tank costs me ~$1300. Even though it hurts to drop that $$$ on a gas tank, at least I know I saved a bit from what it could have been. I saved ~$1200 by sourcing my own parts instead of ordering through my local dealer. So, I guess I NEED to spend $1200 now....Hmmmm sure could use a new entire rear axle assembly.

Any pictures of the aftermarket tank?

No, sorry. I always forget to take pictures. The Spectra tank looked nearly identical to factory, except for the finish. I painted it with primer and a black enamel.

How did the fuel pump look?

I had the dealership do the work, so I didn’t see it. I am kicking myself for not requesting pictures. The mechanic said it didn’t look too bad though. I had them replace the filter while it was out. I figured that I could replace the fuel pump only when it’s necessary due to the other work that needs to be done.
