This is on a '91 FJ80 I picked up last weekend. Runs great, few cosmetic repairs necessary but overall in decent shape. Crawled around underneath and noticed 2 separate areas without cover plates.

Top one could be a missing flapper valve into the cab of the rig.

Is the second one an inspection plate for the flywheel possibly?

Just guesses…

Thanks, I agree the 2nd is some type of flex plate cover. I have found several online but none have the pre-drilled holes for the bolts?

Still can't figure out the other opening. It's located on the side of the engine (?) in a tight spot. Almost looks like it would serve as a valve for a manifold of some sort, but not sure how in that location. Surely it shouldn't be uncovered.

More pics ...
