Hi,

After finishing my last maintenance spree (which took about 1-1/2 years...) I'm left with this bracket. I had put it in a bag identified as "accelerator link" but I can't find anywhere to attach it to and the accelerator link appears to be pretty well supported as is. Any ideas what it might be for and where it attaches?

This goes somewhere on a 1991 PZJ77-MNS

These are the brackets which hold the accelerator link on my truck:

And for reference I did the following:
- Replaced timing and V-belts + tensioner
- Replaced water pump
- Replaced thermostat
- Replaced camshaft seal (oil retainer)
- Replaced oil pressure sender
- Replaced all of the flexible hoses around the fuel pump as well as the nozzle leakage hose
- Removed and checked glow plugs
- Rebuilt the alternator
- Rebuilt the starter
- Fixed a leak on the fuel tank
- Replaced rear drum brake shoes

So this bracket might come from pretty much anywhere...

Thanks!

Mine has the bracket but it was never used since I have had it. Doesn't look like it ever was either. The throttle cable is held on by the other bracket (not shown in the photos)

I wonder if that is a provision for either LHD versions or for cruise control?

Good point. To be honest, I never paid much attention to that clamp until this thread but now I can't help but wonder what it really is for.

I think coldtaco is right.

It is indeed used to loop the accelerator link back over the air intake on the LHD versions!

This is gold. I was just looking under the hood and wondering how the throttle cable was run at the factory. Mine takes a very different, circuitous route to get to the final destination. Maybe mine is a fan of Emerson
