Help identifying a weird piece of electronics (1 Viewer)

Anyone know what this is? Found it behind the glove compartment.

That sure looks like an adapter to listen to an outside device like an old tape deck or cd player. You turn it on and it transmits in the lower end of the FM radio band. You select that frequency and listen to whatever you plugged into it.
I want to say, I first saw those late 80's- early 90's.

That's what they were called. couldn't remember the name.
