Having a moment of weakness here so I need an hand.

My Vortec needs a new serpentine belt, so that’s the easy part.

The hard part is I’m not sure which one to buy? In the past the alternator was changed out so I don’t know if it’s 105 or 145....it’s a Delphi Unit without any part numbers.

I’m trying to find the correct length belt that’ll fit the system, specifically a continental elite, and summit racing lists (3) different belts with variances in length. Some are made to fit the 105 amp and some are made to fit the 145? If there’s any difference

Am I missing an easy way to do this?

Just pull the one you have off and take it with you to the auto store to check out.

I would but they don’t stock the Conti belts and I’ve been bitten by the cheapo’s before

I’m guessing the AC Delco part # 923 is in regards to length. Both summit and amazon both show this part number for the 03’ vortec

And this is supposed to fit the 105 amp alt

Going to try this then I’ll post back for anyone who’s curious. The rig decided to chirp like bird so I’m getting tired of it.

Hoping the belt doesn’t snap during the blizzard Thursday

If it’s chirping, you may need a new idler and/or tensioner pulley(s).

My AC idler seized a while back, so I replaced all of them while I was in there and kept the main tensioner & belt as a spare.

I was thinking the same, the only reason I didn’t order them is because the belt is so old . Hoping it’s just because it’s long overdue and the sub zero temps every day haven’t helped. The chirp is only when I first turn the truck on, after I drive it for a time it goes away
