About a year ago I did a 3" lift on my FJ62, and put 33" BFG's on her. I was told at the time that I should redo the gearing, but have not done so yet. With 225k, my tranny has been really faithful, but has been slipping lately. So when I do the tranny rebuild, I want to redo the gearing. With an AUTO Trans, what kind of gearing should I consider. She's my DD and I don't do anything crazy offroad, so with new gears I really just want to get the most for everyday stuff. Any help would be great. Thanks!

I have 33s with stock gears in my 62 and it does great. The 62 had I believe 4:10 gears while the 60 had 3:73, so I think you'd be fine. I still have power, can climb hills, even get good highway speed. Just my opinion , I could be way off.........cheers

How much would it cost to convert to a manual?

62's have 411 gearing. If your tranny is starting to give up the ghost
it is going to be scary expensive to rebuild.

I'd leave the gearing alone and do a manual 5 speed conversion.

X2 on that!
Cruiserparts has the parts for that as a package.
You may be able to find the stuff, minus the 5 speed, from the Parting Out section.
The 5 speed is around $1850
Everyone who has converted to the manual on their 62 loves it!
