Can't determine how to gain access to all buttons around navi buttons. Mini coke vaporized into a mist inside and across driver and passenger side. 90% cleaned but buttons are sticking. How can I gain access behind them?

Thank you in advance

I've had good luck with windex for stuff like that. Spray liberally on the buttons affected. Wipe off excess and repeat as needed. If you end up accessing the back I would use electronics cleaner instead.

I would take the switches out, use soap and water followed by a good blow. Then maybe use the electircal cleaner or alcohol to final clean/dry. Ammonia eats copper so you may not want to use windex to clean the switches.

Skip the Windex. Get a clean spray bottle and fill with 1/2 distilled water and 1/2 isopropyl alcohol [any drug store]. This mix will flush out the Coke without damaging contacts. You may need a few flushing cycles to get the Coke out. Do it quickly - Coke is know for is corrosive abilities!!

I'd be careful with alcohol. It can discolor interior plastic. I used it on my 80 series and then had a gray strip on the plastic.

Maybe test it first on a hidden spot, but generally isopropyl & water 1:1 is safe for everything. I've been using it for decades. Best flash cleaner around.

Thank you. I'll try the alcohol/water but is there any way to get to the buttons? The wood trim seems in the way of any access point...

Best thing would be to pull the buttons out. Easiest way would be to pull the panel and then just push them out from behind. You could try prying them out with a panel removal tool but you might scratch stuff.

Pulled off the front faceplate. The top center seems to be the one that catches most so you might start from bottom right as I did and slowly pop it out. I used a screwdriver with a sock behind it to start to pop it off. Then I had to grab and pull it carefully once one side lifted. There are no screws at that point. Opening it really didn't do much for access but showed me how far coke had spread and fortunately it was not bad at all with much just remaining on the front cover. I prepared the water/alcohol mix and sprayed onto my cloth then applied so I didn't leak everywhere or into sensitive contacts. This off course depends on the amount of infiltration one may have of liquids...etc. It did provide a great opportunity to see how easily the radio/nav will come out so with my confidence boosted, I may start planning to replace it. Has anyone heard about the Camry to LandCruiser radio swap??
