so i'm moving back into fayetteville from farmington, and i'm in the process of desmoging my 83 fj 60. Anyone nearby have the knowledge to help me out with some of the vacuum s***? i'll provide the beers.:beer::beer::beer:

Well, I think the preferred desmogging method of folks around here is a V8 swap. :) If it helps, you can take a look at a desmogged 2f in my 77 FJ40. It has a Weber, though.
 
hahaha, i'd like to keep my 2f for the sheer torque it puts out. and i was considering doing a weber conversion.... its just a bit of a pain retracing these lines and all.

Absolutely! re:torque. I went with the Weber as an emergency fix. It's fine, but the old carb was fine too (until it died). I sure wouldn't recommend swapping out your working carb for a Weber...it's just not that big a difference in performance, in my opinion.
 
found out i can get a new asian carb for 270 shipping included. screw weber and their five hundred dollar 38/38. working on some body stuff now, but still would like some cruiser experienced eyes to view my handy work thus far
