Well, I think the preferred desmogging method of folks around here is a V8 swap.
If it helps, you can take a look at a desmogged 2f in my 77 FJ40. It has a Weber, though.
Those desmogging jobs make me really thirsty

hahaha, i'd like to keep my 2f for the sheer torque it puts out. and i was considering doing a weber conversion.... its just a bit of a pain retracing these lines and all.

Absolutely! re:torque. I went with the Weber as an emergency fix. It's fine, but the old carb was fine too (until it died). I sure wouldn't recommend swapping out your working carb for a Weber...it's just not that big a difference in performance, in my opinion.

found out i can get a new asian carb for 270 shipping included. screw weber and their five hundred dollar 38/38. working on some body stuff now, but still would like some cruiser experienced eyes to view my handy work thus far
