I highly recommend NOT doing the oil pump, waterpump, timing belt, thermostat on a 2008 acura mdx. I saved $1500 in labor but damn it's definitely a knuckle buster of a job to do in a driveway. Working on the landcruiser is much easier!

Just think of it as $1500 able to go into the LC and all the pain goes away.

Anyone have this stuff of Toyota 1282B around from a previous TB/water pump job? Definitely not getting the $80 tube but still $20 for this tiny tube is annoying.

I’ve used the Toyota 103 FIPG in the past on water pumps since it is rated to be used on it. Seems to be basically the same as the Aisin and able to use on multiple areas. Will check when I get home, if you want to go that route. I’m with you and wouldn’t pay 80 bucks on a tube of sealant but the 103 did cost just shy of 20 when I bought it.

Okay good to know. May get a tube as ill have to do the green LC TB and water pump at some point also and if I can use it for other things thats helpful..

Pretty sure I ordered 103 not that long ago and I am sure i did not pay 80$. Let me see where I got mine

Permetex black or gray will work too. I would use black.

yes, but 103 you will have to use a chisel to remove!!
