My family has a small collection of International pickups & Scouts, three of them are 4x4s. Our interest in Internationals started 50 years ago when my dad bought a new IH 200 Series pickup that we still have today. My oldest son started a complete restoration on a 1967 Scout Sportop in March 2023 that should be finished soon and we recently picked up a loaded 1971 Travelette short bed 4x4 that originally belonged to the owner of a local logging company and a 1979 Midas Baja Scout SSII Canada Dry version. Looking forward to sharing some stories, helping each other find some parts and anything else that is helpful.

There’s almost no IH activity here. We enjoy your posts, but if you’re looking for tech support, this isn’t really the place.

Welcome! Beautiful rigs, I've always been partial to the Travelettes and have come very close to buying a couple over the years. We had a '79 Scout II when I was a kid, I have fond memories of it. I currently have a '69 Loadstar 1700 that is a project in more ways than one. Looking forward to seeing what you do with yours. That 800 is gorgeous!

Thanks AirheadNut and sorry for the late reply. Looks like I need to setup notifications. My dad also had a 1979 Scout, his was a Traveler Rallye that he bought in 1984 with only 9,000 miles on it, I was 16 at the time and really enjoyed driving it. A welder in our area has an old Load Star cab mounted onto an F350 chassis with a 7.3L turbo diesel. He put a GM bed on it with his welder in the back. They are a good looking truck. My son is going to restore the Travelette in the logging company colors, yellow & white with a dark green hood. He wants to put a factory fleetside bed on it and install a 12 valve Cummins in it. I will post more pictures of the 800 when it's done, hoping for the end of October but so far my estimates have been way off. Here's a picture of another Travelette we have, it's a 1968 1200C 3/4 ton with 48,000 original miles on it.

A big thank you to member mrsleeve and to those who own and/or run this website. I used my signature to advertise that I was looking for a 1969-1975 International short fleetside bed with or without a tailgate for our 1971 International Travelette 4x4 and mrsleeve connected us with his buddy Kevin in NW Montana that had one. We picked up the bed on Saturday, Nov. 2nd and just mounted it on the truck this morning. It was a pleasure meeting Kevin and his friends Ron & John who helped load the bed onto our trailer. It was hard to find a good bed for an International pickup 40 years ago and to find one today without having to buy a whole truck is amazing. Thanks again mrsleeve and please let us know if you are ever on Vancouver Island, lunch & beers are on us!
