Hello ladies, I introduced myself today in the general FJ40 thread and someone suggested I post over here too!

My name is thenimirra (Sheba) and I will be bringing home my FJ40 tomorrow. It has been sitting in storage for about 2 years now. My BF gave me the papers for her over breakfast one weekend. I couldn't believe it....it still shocks me to this day! It's he a sweetheart? He knows I've been wanting to wheel and now I've got my own rig!

Here is the thing though...I know nothing about cars! I can't even change a tire. So I will be started from scratch learning about the rig as well as cars in general. Not only that, but my rig is a 3-on-the-tree and I can't drive stick!

I'm up for the challenge and would welcome any advice. Here I am and here is my new baby.

Hey Sheba, welcome! It looks like you have some work ahead of you, but I love that you are ready to take it on! I bought my first truck with little to know knowledge too. It just takes time to learn and you'll be on your way. I suggest that you start a thread in the tech section with what you want to do and folks will pitch in and help you out. And of course, post up here if we can help!

Nice gift! That looks like a factory soft top 40. Not too many of those around.

Sweeeet

Looks like you saved it from that vine just in time. Does it run?

A 1963? Wow! A great rig for a start, welcome!

Try to get as many books as you can for this rare model. Not many '63's running around.

just wanted to post up that this weekend, we breathed life into sheba's rig! charged the battery, poured a bit of gas in the carb and some starting fluid and it ran on all six cylinders!!!! sounded great! she's going to work on draining the old shellac fuel from the tank and changing the oil, while the battery is on a trickle charge...it should be on the road soon!

and this baby is clean! i've seen very few cruisers this clean! it even still has the boots on the slip shafts on the driveshafts! original seat bottom on the driver's seat (unfortunately, the left seat back has been replaced and the jump seats are shot). 51k original miles! i'm very very jealous
