My heater blower switch only works on high (BJ74) . I have followed the manual and the heater blower switch and heater relay all check out perfect.

The next thing the manual says to check is the heater switch resistor -- but I can't find it. Can anyone tell me where to look for it and what it looks like. Thanks in advance.

The resistor is located in the blower housing.
Because the resistor get's hot it's cooled by the ventilation-air. Therefore look for a squarish plate with two terminals with cables and that's placed that way that it's in the airflow of the blower.
Either this resistor is broken or the cables leading to and from it.

Thanks - I guess after 18 years all the heavily used switches, etc are slowly wearing out.

Heater Resistor Part Number

Yes - my heater switch resistor is toast -- intertwined in dust and dirt, which I guess shorts out and burns out the wires. I called Toyota for a new one and for the Canadian spec BJ70 -- two are available. Toyota wants me to prepay and order a non-refundable heater resistor -- so anyone have the part number for a BJ74 heater resistor?

12v = 87138-90k00

24 V = 87138-90k01

Thanks

PS.where can I get a parts listing for the Canadian spec BJ70? This will help me to identify cross-over parts for the BJ74.

Oooops ! This is for a 12V cruiser.... take a chance and surf on that web page and try to find another part # !

54 dollars WTF.....

looks like I could spin some wire around a pencil and re use this one....

I love how every part that is for a Landcruiser cost 10 times what it should... oh well...
