87107-60160 part number appears to be discontinued Japan and UAE. I tried sourcing it in the states and nothing.

It’s a rear heater core 1994 80 series Landcruiser. I found pipes mine are still good, but I like to get and have the core to change when I pull the engine.

Replace the pipes and core. I like to not bypass this if I can keep mine working.

Thanks

Tex

I'm not sure about finding a new one, but these are plentiful and cheap used. With that said, you shouldn't feel any need to change the core out with your engine, but the tranny needs to be out to change out the lower pipes.

I’d give you mine but already threw it in the trash. Running the bypass eliminated like 16 hose connections.

That’s good to know,
I hate to go through the expense of new pipes just to get a leaking core soon after, and can’t find one to replace it.

An update,

New parts source found pipes shipped from Japan. They took my money and awaiting shipping notification. If they arrive I lost who they are and details.

Secondary the pipes are available in the USA at a premium price through the dealship networks.

The Hester core I did find I think was Japan, however UAE had the entire unit assy. Housing, blower , ready to bolt in.

I ordered it. I am planning keeping my 94 for a long time and engineer trans coming out for refreshing. It will get new pipes , exhaust , turbo intercooled, trans touched, and engine freshened up. So it gets a new rear heater assy too.

Nomad valve body on order for my trans and planning a few minor tweaks inside with new clutches / lips seals/ bushings if needed. If I keep the boost turned down it should last my lifetime left.

For future reference, Dave Stedman at Japan 4x4 can get almost anything.

They can be replaced with the trans in place and the engine out. I did it last year when I rebuilt my engine, was it a pain it the ass ....yes but it can be done.

Right, I can do the pipes with engine only out. However to refresh the trans just pull it and make the pipes easier too.

Do the extra clutch disc addition/s with new steels / clutch discs
Lip seals and seals can’t hurt anything with an upgraded nomad valve body.

It’s giving zero trouble now but has 250k on both the engine and trans with original hoses / pipes on the rear heater core and head gasket. The front heater core has been changed in the last 3 years with an oem core. If I do he rest of the hoses oem and rear pipes / metal Ts / heater valve and new rear heater assy I should be good to go for as long as I have the truck.

I Am gathering part now getting ready for the big day to fake it down. I in the middle of Haltech taking over trans shifting now get the electronics worked out before the pull down.

Once the intercooler air to air solution for LHD USA trucks is worked out a turbo change from supercharger is coming. Cooler weather IATs the truck runs fantastic now, hot summers hi IATs it is noticeable. With the intercooler solution we can help Hi IATs down and maintain better performance. Less cylinder temps and just overall better engine efficiency.

This was planned to be a winter project for me and it’s approaching fast now.
