Hi all,

I replaced one of these heater hoses, and it looks like I've knocked off the blue wire with a ring on the end that runs through the firewall from the heater controls to open the valve.
Could someone please show me a photo of theirs? If you could also have your heater control on cold and re-circulate before taking the picture, I would greatly appreciate it.

Cheers,
Pete

Is this right? Also is the valve in this position on cold?

Connection to the wire looks correct...here's my recent take off...

Wire back towards firewall = valve open
Wire forward towards engine = valve closed

Also, if I remember correctly the vacuum will actuate this once the truck is running, so it may not be in the proper position when the truck is off...can't check that for your to confirm though as my intake is laying on my workbench right now waiting on new injectors!

I would say that it is open to flow as shown in your 2nd pic.
Very weird. My cabin controls are on cold and recirculate. I don't think the cable would reach otherwise.. if I move to heat the cable pushes out toward the engine. On cool it retracts back into the firewall.

Interesting, mine is a 93-94 US spec version, different part number than later one, maybe a different operation?

So this morning I turned the fan on and its not hot... hit the A/C and it's cold.. so I'm guessing the valve is closed in that position on mine..

That small clip is there to hold the cable in place once it's attached to the lever. FWIW

Thank you to @Ribz0 for providing the below pic of his vehicle. It appears as though mine is in the correct position while on cool and recirc. Thanks all!
