I did a rad flush on my 89bj75 and made sure there's a flow through the heater. I'm getting no heat from the heater! Temps are 190 in and 190 out so what can be the problem, is there a flow through baffle which bypass the heater built into the coil is the question? Getting ready to refill with coolant and venturing out across the country any time soon as borders open up(moving my youngest from BC back to On.). No need for heat at this moment but will need it this Fall. My heater control panel is in dire need to be replaced when I get back from my trip.

How are the heater controls on the dash? Maybe a linkage is off or broke?

Also, maybe air trapped in the heater core preventing anti-freeze from flowing through.

I fed the water through the flushing T with hose clamped to water pump and through the heater core to fill up the block & rad then out of rad cap. I made sure no air inside the heater core. I manually have the heat control valve opened. The heater control is toast and everything is manually operated in the mean time. I should get heat but I don't? I have air flow going out the ducts so I'm stumped!

Could be an air lock still. Have you ran it until it builds up pressure in the cooling system?
Bad radiator cap and low pressure makes my heater stop working properly.
Sometimes after pressure builds up, loosening the clamp on a heater hose bleeds the air out.

Either hot water is not flowing through the heater core or the air is not flowing around it.

Can you feel if the heater is getting warm? Either under the dash or at the heater hoses in the engine compartment?

Could the dash linkages be stuck on vent, so no air flows over the heater core.

Blocked, bad wire, not connected?

The matrix could be full of gunk and the warm coolant is flowing past it. If the heater hose going in and out is warm, it must be the matrix

Did you try back flushing the matrix? You stick the garden hose down the heater outlet pipe. I did it once and a heap of black stuff come out.

190 in & 190 out, engine compartment touched and hot to the touch. It can be in vent position, kind of hard to visual it. I wasn't aware of air flow redirected away from heater core, learn something new everyday. More reason to get a operable heater control ASAP.

When you refer matrix, is that the heater core? I'll try the back flush tip, I got nothing to lose and more to gain!
